Incumbent Jane Hughson has an early lead in the San Marcos Mayoral race against challenger Juan Miguel Arredondo, according to early voting results.
  • Hughson has received 60.40% of votes, or 11,485 ballots.
  • Arredondo has received 39.60% of votes, or 7,529 ballots.
What you need to know

Hughson—who was first elected in November 2018—is seeking reelection for a fourth term. Arredondo ran for the mayoral seat in 2020 and the two candidates entered into a runoff election that year.

Hughson won the runoff election, with 65.95% of votes or 2,411 ballots. Arredondo received 34.05% of votes, or 1,245 ballots, according to previous reporting by Community Impact.


What else?

In early voting, there were 19,014 ballots cast citywide towards the mayoral election.

Polls closed at 7 p.m., although voters who were in line at 7 p.m. were still able to cast ballots.
