From renovations to new schools, check out eight of the ongoing and recently completed bond-funded projects in Hays CISD.
1. Lehman High School Auditorium
- Schedule: August 2023-January 2026
- Scope of work: added an 800-seat auditorium, scene shop, two classrooms, and storage for fine arts program rehearsals and performances
- Status: 100%
- Cost: $53.1 million
2. Elementary school No. 18 design
- Schedule: March-August 2026
- Scope of work: designs the district’s eighteenth elementary school, which will accommodate 900 students
- Status: 10% complete
- Cost: $4.2 million
- Funded by Proposition A of the 2023 bond
3. Fine Arts and Athletic Multipurpose Activity Centers
- Schedule: August 2025-August 2026
- Scope of work: creates covered, lighted, and cooled open-air, outdoor activity facilities to accommodate fine arts and athletic student practices, rehearsals, performances, competitions and events
- Status: 63%
- Cost: $51.4 million
4. Middle school No. 7 design
- Schedule: November 2025-October 2026
- Scope of work: designs the district’s seventh middle school, which will accommodate 1,200 students
- Status: 25% complete
- Cost: $6 million
- Funded by Proposition A of the 2025 bond
5 and 6. Elementary school and middle school renovations and expansions
- Schedule: August 2025-August 2027
- Scope: upgrades the existing six middle school campus buildings and expands smaller campuses to accommodate 1,200 students each; upgrades four of the existing elementary school campuses and expands to accommodate 900 students each
- Status: 25%
- Cost: $200.9 million
- Funded by Proposition A of the 2025 bond
7. High school rehabilitations
- Schedule: August 2025-August 2027
- Scope of work: upgrades the existing three comprehensive traditional high school campus buildings and expands smaller campuses to accommodate 2,800 students each
- Status: 27%
- Cost: $98.9 million
- Funded by Proposition A of the 2025 bond
