Texas State University's San Marcos and Round Rock campuses will be closed Jan. 16, as freezing temperatures are forecast through Jan. 17.

In a nutshell

All in-person and online classes are canceled, and faculty are advised against moving in-person class online, according to an email from the university.

"Although working remotely is not mandatory, university employees may work from home with the consent of their supervisor at their discretion. We ask that supervisors remain flexible and work with employees to ensure critical university operations continue and safety is a top priority. Weather-essential employees must report to work in person as normally scheduled," the email states.

Going forward

Texas State officials will communicate potential delayed starts or closures for Jan. 17 through TXSTATE Alert texts and emails.
