San Marcos CISD’s board of trustees unanimously approved a contract with Paragon Sports Constructors for field turf replacement at Rattler Stadium and the track practice field.

The contract approval comes days after voters approved the district’s $166 million bond. The turf replacement is funded through the bond’s Proposition B and is expected to cost no more than $984,563.

“We want to go ahead and move on it quick so that way we can have the turf installed before football season starts,” said Mike Doyle, the district’s director of state and federal programs.

Paragon Sports Constructors is a family-owned, Texas-based sports construction company.

Trustee Mari Salmi said she was impressed with the quick approval of the bond item.

“I want to commend the administration and staff for getting this approved so quickly after the election. I’m quite impressed,” Salmi said.
