Anthem, a 422-acre master-planned community located on the westside of Kyle, officially opened its Central Park Amenity Center on April 23.

A master-planned community is a community that has multiple amenities and homes at different price points, according to an Anthem official. It is typically large enough to support a school as well.

Development negotiations began in 2014, and construction officially began in early 2019.

The housing development contains about 1,500 single-family homes and an amenity center. The amenity center has a swimming pool that can hold up to 206 people.

There is also a community garden behind the pool. Other amenities include a fire pit, a playground area, picnic benches and a pavilion. There is also a school being built within the Anthem community, which is expected to be completed in 2025.

Clark Wilson, Anthem's general partner and developer, said Anthem will be the "finest master-planned community in the Kyle area," and described the development's theme as a "patriotic Americana" with street names from American legends to early founders.

Anthem offers six different build companies: Anthem Cottages, Ashton Woods, Brightland Homes, Newmark Homes, Perry Homes and Scott Felder Homes. Currently, Anthem has Perry, Brightland and Scott Felder Homes. The remaining sections of homes are beginning their construction phase. According to the website, new model homes are now open in Phase One and available for touring. Phase Two and Phase Three as well as Anthem Cottages builders are open for sales.

Wilson said Anthem Cottages will be a "lock-and-leave" gated community within the subdivision.

"[It will be] smaller homes with smaller yards but high quality finish out," he said. "It's set up for baby boomers looking to move down as well as young professionals with a kid on the way soon because of that elementary school."

Anthem homes are priced between $300,000 and $700,000. www.anthemtexas.com.
