It has been a month since Kyle City Council approved a development agreement that will displace several residences in the Quail Ridge subdivision, and residents may still be in the dark.

The Limestone Creek Development agreement was amended to an existing development agreement and approved March 7.

As part of the deal a tax increment reinvestment zone, or TIRZ, was established with Meritage Homes of Texas LLC.

The city of Kyle and Meritage Homes will meet this month to discuss the alignment and design of GoForth Road, a road that will be within the Limestone Creek Development displacing several residences within the Quail Ridge subdivision.

“We are working closely with the city and following proper procedures as governed by state law for each step of the project,” said Justin Belmore, vice president of land acquisition for Meritage Homes' Austin division. “Once the city approves the location and specifications of the road, we’ll know exactly which properties will be impacted, and city representatives will make contact with the residents at the time."

The project is expected to be completed by summer 2026.
