The Hays County Local Health Department reported 147 new confirmed COVID-19 cases from March 10-16. Based on the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention COVID-19 Community Levels tool, Hays County is deemed a low-risk county with less than 200 new cases per 100,000 people in seven days.

There have been two fatalities and seven hospital admissions in the past seven days.

The current seven-day positivity rate is 2.46%.

As the number of cases continue to steadily decline, the vaccination rates have slowly increased compared to data from late February, as previously reported by Community Impact Newspaper.





The Texas Department of State Health Services reports that 77.32% of Hays County residents 5 years old and up have received at least one COVID-19 vaccine dose, while 66.11% of the same population are fully vaccinated.


About 99.99% of Hays County residents 65 years old and up have received at least one vaccine dose while 94.39% of the same population are fully vaccinated.
