A total cost has not yet been set, but officials in Kyle have signed an agreement as part of its upcoming downtown beautification project.

City Council signed the agreement with Pedernales Electric Cooperative during its June 1 meeting, and work involves relocating overhead power lines throughout the Downtown Square to adjacent streets, alleys and underground areas as necessary.

The initial step limits the agreement to the development of plans, specs and documents needed for PEC to estimate construction costs.

City information states the planning costs are estimated at $100,000, and officials will consider construction costs at a later date once PEC has that information.
