On Friday the city of Buda announced that it will be entering Stage 2 drought restrictions, effective Aug. 13.
“Water is a precious resource in Buda,” Public Information Officer David Marino said in a statement. “It is also a limited resource, especially during times of drought. By going into Stage 2 restrictions on Monday, Aug. 13, we are continuing to take proactive measures to conserve our water supply. With that being said, we do have an adequate water supply for our citizens. But in the spirit of conservation and to keep up with the demands on our water production system, we have decided to enact Stage 2 restrictions. Despite this weekend’s chances for rain, we have still seen a drier-than-normal summer.”
Some restrictions under Stage 2 include twice-per-week outdoor watering, prohibition of non-circulating aesthetic water features and no filling of new swimming pools.
