Hays County early voting numbers are in, and candidate Lee Urbanovsky is in the lead by a slim margin. During the early vote, Lee received 1,524 votes, or 47.31 percent. John Hatch is in second with 1,427 votes, or 44.30 percent. Theodore L. Kosub came in third with early voting numbers, with 270 votes, or 8.38 percent.

"That's close. I'm happy with that," Urbanovsky said. "I didn't know how it was going to turn out because of marketing and dollars spent on other side. I did a lot of walking. "

Urbanovsky said it was his goal to at least get to a run-off election. He said that so far tonight he's been impressed by his supporters, especially with the bad weather tonight.

"They showed up for me," Urbanovsky said. "I appreciate their endurance because, it's cold and rainy."

The seat was previously held by Angela Dean Kennedy, who decided not to seek re-election.
