The store will be located in the San Mar Plaza shopping center at 917 SH-80 N., according to a March 6 news release. The new IKEA will reside in the previous Conn’s Home Plus location, which closed in October 2024.

The new location will be IKEA’s ninth store in Texas and will span approximately 35,000 square feet, according to the news release. The store will feature “local living” solutions tailored to the everyday needs of the San Marcos community.
The news release states that the store will display more than 2,500 products, with 2,000 available for immediate purchase, and will offer a selection of Swedish Food Market items. Customers will have the ability to order from IKEA’s full product range for home delivery or in-store pickup.
