Torchy’s Tacos closed its San Marcos location at 301 N. Guadalupe St., Ste. 194, this fall, according to Morgan Hendrix, a public relations spokesperson for Torchy's.

“This decision did not come lightly to not renew our lease, and Torchy’s Tacos will continue to explore opportunities for new locations within the San Marcos area, including near the Texas State campus,” Hendrix said.

CEO and Founder Mike Rypka said Torchy’s Tacos opened its doors almost 10 years ago in a “wave of growth” for the company.

“It’s been a fun ride to see the community and campus grow, and to know that we made an impact,” Rypka said in a news release. “We are forever grateful to the Texas State and San Marcos community and look forward to hopefully finding a new home. As always, Eat ‘em up, Cats!”
