A new state-of-the-art veterinary clinic is now open on Main Street in Buda.

Buda Veterinary Care's owners, staff and community members celebrated the facility's grand opening with a Buda Chamber of Commerce ribbon cutting on Dec. 10.

Meet the owners

This is the first ground-up practice from the facility's owners Dr. Sandra Ontiveros and her husband, Robert Amoroso. Ontiveros has been a practicing vet in Austin for over 20 years and said getting to build Buda Veterinary Care from scratch allowed them to tailor the facility in a way that would best serve the community.

"It's really amazing because when you kind of inherit a space, it's hard to troubleshoot some of the areas that weren't laid out a certain way, or some of the things that are in place," Ontiveros said. "This is where we got to look at all the things that flow through the hospital. Where do we want to keep things? How do we want to set up the lobby and exam rooms? And so it was really neat to do that ... and just collaborate with a lot of talent. We have some great techs working for us."

The features

The new animal hospital features separate dog and cat entrances; six exam rooms, two of which are cat-only; a comfort room with a private exit; sound-proof walls around separate cat and dog wards and more.
