Buda will soon be home to a new state-of-the-art veterinary care clinic.

City officials and members of the Practice Real Estate Group celebrated Buda Veterinary Care’s groundbreaking on March 6.

The details

The clinic is owned by Dr. Sandra Ontiveros and her husband, Robert Amoroso. Ontiveros has been practicing general veterinary and emergency medicine for over 20 years in Austin. This will be her and her husband’s first ground-up practice.

“We can't wait to open the doors to the people of Buda and share what we believe will be the highest-quality experience both in veterinary medicine and client service,” Amoroso said.

Ontiveros is the co-owner of Manchaca Village Veterinary Care in South Austin, and Amoroso served as the clinic’s chief operating officer for six years. They said they want to bring the same “long appointment, non-rushed,” high-quality vet experience they had in Austin to Buda.

“One of my favorite things that I do is being able to be there for a patient from the time they're teeny tiny kittens and puppies till their time they are elders, and being with that family along the ride is just a joy and a privilege, and I can't wait to do that here in Buda,” Ontiveros said.

The new clinic spans 6,500 square feet and will feature separate cat and dog entrances as well as the newest and most advanced veterinary diagnostic equipment.

Why it matters

Buda City Manager Micah Grau said veterinary care services are an unmet need in the community, and that the city is grateful for the continued work to establish the new clinic.

Buda Veterinary Clinic is projected to open at early next year.
