The San Marcos Area Chamber of Commerce officially launched its newest networking initiative—Corridor Women's Network—on July 25 at the Kissing Tree Golf Club, located at 201 Kissing Tree Lane.

The Corridor Women's Network aims to connect, inform and elevate female professionals who work and live along the I-35 corridor.

The details

Brooke Damron of The Damron Group Realtors, Blythe Cox from Texas Regional Bank and incoming chamber Chair Cassidy Berenato of Texas Aviation Partners are leading the initiative, according to a news release.

Page Michel, San Marcos Area Chamber president, said all three women have extensive experience with professional and social networking.

"They are eager to share with other women to help them grow and get more engaged with our chamber and our community," Michel said in a news release.

The Corridor Women's Network will feature a myriad of networking opportunities, including coffee meet-ups, after-hours events and luncheons with civic leaders, CEOs, health specialists and coaches, according to a news release.

Michel said there were about 58 female business professionals in attendance and nearly 90 women who registered to attend the launch party.

"Apparently, this has been a big need in this area," Michel told Community Impact.

Michel said she hopes the Corridor Women's Network will provide a "fun and meaningful way for women to come together on a regular basis."
