Green Heron Bookshop, owned and operated by San Marcos local Wade Vetiver, is relocating to a new space this fall.

The bookshop opened on Feb. 9 and is currently located at 323 W. Hopkins St., and will be relocating to a historic home at 504 Burleson St. in San Marcos on Aug. 1. The home—which was built in 1865—will have more space for events and inventory, Vetiver said.

Vetiver said he wants to "amp up" his poetry on the porch and book clubs, and also offer story time for children. The new space will also have a lounge area.

Green Heron Bookshop sells new and used books. Aside from novels, the shop sells San Marcos-based postcards, Texas art and stickers.
