Em Dash Books has temporarily relocated to The Carrington in Buda on June 26, after closing the doors to its brick-and-mortar location on June 11.

The indie bookstore—owned by Lola Watson—was previously located at 200 S. Main St. in Buda and closed to “insure the long-term sustainability” of the bookstore, Watson stated in a social media post.

“We’re just kind of spending this time refocusing on how to raise literacy rates in these areas where there are no bookstores,” Watson told Community Impact.

Watson also said she would rather have Em Dash Books be open in some capacity than run it into the ground.

“It’s hard out there for small businesses, so shop local when you can. If you are a small business and you are struggling you’re not alone,” she added.

The independent, popup bookstore sells books, stickers, bookmarks and more. Em Dash Books will be open Wednesday-Friday from 12-5 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. -5 p.m.
