The San Antonio-based coffee lounge offers plant-based energy drinks and organic mushroom coffee. The coffee lounge can add a variety of wellness enhancers—like immune boosters or CBD—to their drinks.HearUSA


Jamie Lucas, director of marketing communications, said HearUSA is hoping to open the San Marcos location in late March or early April. HearUSA offers hearing screenings and evaluations, and hearing aids. The hearing center will also offer Sony OTC hearing aids, which are hearing aids that do not require a prescription.

Nothing Bundt Cakes

The cake shop will open inside Aquarena Crossing in San Marcos this spring. Construction is slated to start in late March, according to the Texas Department of Licensing and Registration. Nothing Bundt Cakes offers bundt cakes in a variety of flavors and sizes as well as a selection of retail items, including party supplies, decor and gifts.Paige

Founder Magaly Rodriguez said the second location will give them extra space to alleviate families on their waitlist. The free shuttle serviced by ECab of North America stopped operating in San Marcos on Feb. 29 due to utilizing all of the available funding. The pilot program was initially launched Nov. 7, 2022, and provided an alternative method of transportation around the Main Street District.Love Lock SMTX

Local organization Leadership San Marcos unveiled its Love Lock SMTX art installation project Feb. 16 at Zelick's Ice House. The project was championed by the 2024 leadership class: Heather Demere, Tiffany Harris and Brooke Spruiell. "We wanted to have a beautiful sculpture for this community to enjoy and hopefully to bring some tourism—to bring people from out of town to lock in their love," Spruiell said.The Crystal River Inn


The inn closed for renovations Jan. 1; however, the four rooms in the Thomas House next door are still operating and available to rent. New owners Eric L'Etoile and his wife, Corley, will fully remodel the inside of the inn and upgrade its rooms. The inn’s name will be changed to Hopkins House Hotel once renovations are complete. Corley said they hope to be back open by the end of April or beginning of May. The inn also celebrated its 40th anniversary Feb. 14.
