The auto repair shop, owned by New Braunfels locals Rick Benavidez and Cory Pompa, was previously located at 3600 N. State Hwy. 123. Benavidez said San Marcos Auto Center has been open for 6 years and during that time business had increased drastically, which caused them to outgrow the space.
The shop offers a range of auto repair services, including alignments, general repairs and diesel repairs.
Benavidez said they decided to open an auto repair shop in San Marcos to give the community an alternative option for getting their cars repaired.
"We just want to give them another option other than a franchise dealership," he said.
San Marcos Auto Center will also begin offering car detail services and selling vehicles in the coming months.
