The city of Kyle celebrated the long-awaited completion of La Verde Park, located at 3875 Burnham Road, on Nov. 18.

About the project

The park is part of the first phase of Plum Creek’s Brick and Mortar District and is partially funded through Tax Increment Reinvestment Zone No. 2, which was established in 2018.

The 1.6-acre park has several features, including an event lawn that can have up to 2,200 people, a performance pavilion, a splash pad and a rain garden. La Verde Park also has a playground equipped with swing sets, jungle gyms, a seesaw and an 18-foot bobcat-inspired play feature.

Quote of note

Mayor Travis Mitchell said although the park's completion took longer than expected, the city focused on ensuring the park was constructed as designed.

"We’re very proud of the park, and we feel like the residents are going to really enjoy it, not only now, but especially over time as more development happens around the Brick and Mortar District," Mitchell said.
