The Smoothie King Buda franchise is locally owned by Chris Villanueva and his wife, Cindy Villanueva.

Smoothie King sells smoothie bowls as well as various fruit and coffee.

Chris Villanueva emphasized that although the Smoothie King Buda location will have a focus on health, partnering with the community was just as important to them. He said the Smoothie King location will serve as a "tech incubator" for the food service industry, and they would invest heavily in technology education, such as inventory optimization, robotics and machines.

"I'm [going to] partner and provide internships for any technology student that wants to learn how to apply actual science and STEM concepts but in a business environment," Chris Villanueva said.

The Villanuevas' Smoothie King location is sponsoring the Moe & Gene Johnson High School Robotics Club and provides free technology training to those who want to learn through a technology mentorship program held at the Buda Public Library.
