According to a news release, Z’Tejas was the first-ever recipient of the City of Kyle Restaurant Incentive Program, which aims to recruit "unique" restaurants to the city, and has been in the works since December 2021.

Director of Economic Development Victoria Vargas noted the restaurant’s opening has been “eagerly anticipated.”

“Our residents have longed for an upscale, sit-down restaurant, and Z’Tejas perfectly fits that mold,” Vargas said in a news release.

Z’Tejas offers Tex-Mex cuisine with a Southern flair, such as burgers, fajitas, barbacoa beef enchiladas, chicken-fried chicken and more.
