Owner Dina McAweeney said the shop had a lot of new customers who were happy there was another shop on the square.
The apothecary shop was previously located at 145 S. LBJ Drive, San Marcos, and shared a space with Alchemy Records.
McAweeney said she is excited to make her shop her own.
“I just decided I needed my own place,” McAweeney said. “I didn't have say to do exactly what I wanted to do; now I just want to make it my own.”
Atypical Apothecary sells over an assortment of herbs and teas and also supports local artists through consignments. The shop carries a wide variety of teas and crystals and will have charm and tarot readings throughout the week. The shop is open Mondays and Thursdays from 11 a.m.-7 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays from 11 a.m.-8 p.m., and Sundays from noon-6 p.m. The shop is closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
