The cafe, located at 415 Main St. in Martindale, is now owned by Zach and Connor Peoples, and Emily Preston. Prior to being an owner, Preston worked at Martindale River Cafe for nearly two years and fell in love with the community.
“The cafe and the community is really, really amazing, and it’s really special to be a part of,” Preston said. “We all just love the Martindale community and wanted to have a bigger part in it.”
Although they are not making significant changes yet, the three are working to offer a wider variety of breakfast foods, coffee and barbecue, which would make the cafe Martindale’s first business to sell barbecue.
Martindale River Cafe will host a crawfish boil Feb. 19 to celebrate the first day of being open. Martindale residents can expect more regular hours in March.
