The overhaul of Buda City Park, which began in early February of 2019, is projected to be completed before the 2020 Weiner Dog Races, according to a tour given to City Council members on Nov. 26.
The tour was held as part of a special City Council meeting in order to provide updates on construction.Project Manager Kenny Crawford, who led the tour, said said significant progress has been made on City Park. The structure of the amphitheater is up and the stage has been completed, although it is still missing the steps leading up to the stage as well as other details. The two restrooms and two changing rooms behind the amphitheater designed to accommodate performers are still in the works.
When complete, the work on City Park will include new restrooms, an amphitheater, more parking and two playgrounds accommodating different age groups, separated by a splash pad and water playground. Updates will continue to be provided on the city's website.
