Overview
After engineers discovered a “skewed geometry of the intersection” and lack of right-of-way, the city is planning to build a roundabout to help improve traffic flow and safety.
According to the city, the roundabout will handle traffic more efficiently than stop signs or signals, while also reducing the likelihood of serious accidents. Construction on the project, which is still in the design phase, is expected to begin as early as the fall of 2025.
The community is invited to give feedback on the potential designs for the roundabout Oct. 8, 5-7 p.m., at the Old Town Elementary School Cafeteria. The city is also gathering input through an online survey, which is available at www.publicinput.com/hairymanintersection.
