Repairs to Round Rock’s downtown roundabout signage will cause intermittent street closures July 15 and 16, according to the city.

The sign required a crane to lift and remove it, according to a press release, which added damage from two car wrecks in the past year required it to be removed and sent to the manufacturer for repair.

The sign is expected to be returned to the city’s roundabout at the intersection of Round Rock Avenue and Blair Street after Denucci Constructors are finished with the repairs—about a month, according to the release.

Drivers approaching downtown from I-35 will not have to take any detours, and drivers approaching downtown from West Main Street may avoid the closures by turning right on Brown Street then turning left on Round Rock Avenue to get to I-35, according to the city's statement.

City Council approved an agreement for the $68,000 repair at a June 24 meeting.
