In addition to its Oakwood and La Frontera clinics, Harbor Health will expand its Round Rock footprint with a new Express Care clinic.

Diane Plas, a family nurse practitioner with Harbor Health, said the clinic will fill a need for clinics meeting urgent care needs in northeast Round Rock, the next level between the health system's general practice clinics and local emergency rooms.

"There's plenty of emergency rooms that you can go to in Round Rock to get that kind of very high-level care, but when you need something that doesn't quite meet that threshold and you want to go to a provider that you're familiar with, we're that." she said. "We'd be happy to help them establish care and maintain a longtime relationship with primary care doctors if they don't have a medical home."

Plas said the clinic will take walk-in clients and allow patients to make appointments if needed.
