With the holiday season coming to a close, the city of Round Rock and Williamson County will provide Christmas tree recycling into January.

Overview

Two tree recycling events will be held at the Round Rock Brush Recycling Center this season. The center is located at 310 Deepwood Drive in Round Rock, where residents can bring Christmas trees and receive a small tree seedling while supplies last.

Recycling event days include:
  • Dec. 28, 9 a.m.-6 p.m.
  • Jan. 4, 9 a.m.-6 p.m.
All decorations, lights, wires and tree stands must be removed before brought to the recycling center. The trees will be shredded into a fine a mulch and made available free of charge to residents for pickup at the recycling center. Contractors and nonresidents may also purchase mulch for $5 per cubic yard.

According to a news release, residents may bring Christmas trees to the Round Rock Brush Recycling Center during any regular operating day.


What else?

The Williamson County Landfill will also accept Christmas trees for recycling until Jan. 4, 2025. Located at 600 Landfill Road in Hutto, the site will accept trees for free as long as all lights and ornaments are removed. Flocked trees will not be accepted.
