A recent report named the city of Round Rock one of the best places to live in the U.S., according to a city news release.

The overview

The list, created by Livability annually, names the 100 best places to live throughout the nation. The company uses nearly 100 data points to measure things like a city’s economy, housing and cost of living, amenities, transportation, environment, safety, education and health, according to the company website.

Livability only considers small- to mid-sized communities with between 75,000 and 500,000 in population. The cities on the list represent the top 5% of U.S. cities with populations in the studied range.

“Round Rock is a small town that makes a big bang,” according to this year’s analysis of the city.

Some of the top contributing factors for the city being included on the list of best cities included safe neighborhoods, an award-winning park system, various health care options and job opportunities.

Below are quick facts about Round Rock, according to the report:
  • Median home value: $367,817
  • Median property tax: $3,429
  • Median Household Income: $99,247

  • Total population: 119,977
