Trustees will consider a measure adding language concerning identity-based bullying to its student code of conduct as well as continue bond discussions in a called meeting set for Aug. 8.

What you need to know

Per the district, the Texas Association of School Boards did not recommend any updates to member districts' student code of conduct ahead of the 2024-25 school year. However, trustees adopted an update to its bullying policy that added language around identity-based bullying in May. Trustees will consider making the update part of the 2024-25 student code of conduct, a document received by students at the beginning of each year or upon enrollment into the district.

What else?

Trustees will also continue discussions around the bond proposal under consideration, further fine-tuning included projects ahead of a vote to be held Aug. 15 on whether the proposal will be put to voters.
