Round Rock ISD celebrates opening of Boys & Girls Clubs at 10 campuses

Round Rock ISD held a ribbon-cutting Sept. 16 to celebrate the opening of Boys & Girls Clubs after-school programs at 10 elementary school campuses.

About the program

The clubs, which began operating in RRISD at the beginning of the 2026-27 school year, provide free on-campus after-school care for children ages 5 and older until 6 p.m. each school day. Students receive homework support and tutoring as well as enrichment activities.

There are now Boys & Girls Clubs at the following schools:

• Anderson Mill Elementary

• Berkman Elementary

• Bluebonnet Elementary

• Caldwell Heights Elementary

• Callison Elementary

• Joe Lee Johnson Elementary

• Robertson Elementary

• Union Hill Elementary

• Voigt Elementary

• Wells Branch Elementary

The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Austin Area was awarded a $9 million, five-year Texas Afterschool Centers on Education grant to fund the programming.

Speaking at the ribbon-cutting, Boys & Girls Clubs of the Austin Area CEO Zenae Campbell highlighted the grant's significance in providing services in Round Rock.

"In spaces where organizations are having struggles and challenges and trying to find resources to serve kids, we are finding a way to grow," Campbell said. "We're finding a way to grow through strong partnerships, being transformative together, taking those really good risks together."
