Amazon resuming plans for warehouse, distribution center in western Round Rock

Amazon will resume plans for a new warehouse and distribution center in Round Rock, more than a year after the company put the project on pause.

What's happening?

Amazon confirmed to the Greater Round Rock West Neighborhood Association that it will resume plans for a project to bring a new warehouse and distribution center to a property near CR 172 and SH 45 in western Round Rock, per a memo shared with residents of the association. The project had been left on hold since May 2022, when the company deferred building activity to manage cost pressures.

Round Rock ISD trustees talk legislative priorities for special session

Round Rock ISD trustees discussed the district's legislative priorities for a special legislative session focused on education Oct. 19, calling on lawmakers to provide adequate funding for public schools.

What happened?


In response to bills under consideration at the state Legislature, trustees discussed some updated legislative priorities regarding school funding and accountability brought forth by board President Amber Landrum and Place 4 trustee Alicia Markum. Markum said the updated priorities are intended to break down some of the issues trustees are advocating for on behalf of the district for community members.
