Meridian World School has announced that all students will be given healthy meals at no cost during the 2021-22 school year.
The Round Rock-based charter school shared the news in a July 19 press release.
“Typically, a student’s household must meet income eligibility requirements to qualify for free or reduced-price meals," the release states. "However, the United States Department of Agriculture issued guidance that allows schools to offer meals to all students at no cost for the 2021-22 school year.”
A copy of this policy is available in each school site or office, the release states, adding the program may not continue through to subsequent school years, and income eligibility may again become required in the 2022-23 school year.
