While a mask requirement remains in place at Round Rock ISD schools, the district issued an update to the requirement March 24 allowing students the option to remove their mask during outdoor activities.

Beginning March 29, students can decide to remove their mask or keep it on during outdoor physical activities, per the news release. The activities include gym class and recess.

Students who do remove their mask must maintain social distance from others. If a student does remove their mask, they must put it back on once the outdoor activity is over.

Mask requirements for students, staff and visitors remain in place. Under Texas Education Agency guidelines, school systems can require masks for students or adults.
