Austin Community College will break ground to expand its Round Rock campus Nov. 22. The expansion project will add two new buildings to the campus, as well as renovate a current building.

About the project

ACC’s Round Rock campus expansion will have two phases. Phase 1 includes two new buildings:

  • Building 5500 will encompass programs for advanced manufacturing, heating and air conditioning repair technology, and a future electrician certificate program in a 24,200-square-foot space.
  • Building 4000 will house the automotive technology program in a 36,500-square-foot facility.

In Phase 2, ACC will renovate and expand programs in Building 5000. Both phases will help meet the demand for education in fields like building construction, welding, automotive technology, HVAC and advanced manufacturing, according to a news release.

What else?

This is ACC’s first project using the 2022 general obligation bond. It began the design process in September 2023. The project follows an ongoing trend of Round Rock institutions investing in program and campus expansions.
