Place 5 is currently held by Amy Weir, who is not seeking reelection.

What would your priorities be if elected?
My priorities are R³: Rigor, Responsibility and Readiness. That means strong readers and thinkers from the start, paying teachers competitively, keeping parents meaningfully involved and spending taxpayer dollars with discipline. Readiness means keeping RRISD’s strong college, career and certification options aligned with how work, skills and opportunity are changing.
What should readers know about you?
I’ve called Round Rock home since 2012, and my two sons attend RRISD. I manage partnerships and complex contracts with platforms employers use to recruit and hire. That gives me a front-row view of how AI, skills-based hiring and changing job requirements are shaping the workforce our students will enter.
What do you feel is the most pressing issue facing Round Rock ISD at this time?
The biggest issue is protecting classrooms while rebuilding reserves. A projected $23.6 million shortfall affects students, teachers and taxpayers. I’d dig into overtime, stipends, vacancies, vendor terms and recurring costs so we can retain great teachers, reduce vacancy-driven strain and protect the programs and support students rely on.
What would your priorities be if elected?
Produce unparalleled RRISD graduates through expanded Advanced Academics and CTE, preparing them for a rapidly changing workforce. Stellar extracurriculars for well-rounded development. Retain teachers, librarians and staff as trusted, respected professionals. Match spending to real enrollment, prioritizing critical needs. Lead with transparency that families can act on.
What should readers know about you?
I'm an RRISD parent, two kids at McNeil and PRMS, and a technology executive (CPTO) who sets company strategy and drives AI transformation. A lifelong fine arts learner and advocate. Physics is my favorite science. Have been volunteering for human rights, education and child advocacy for twenty-five years.
What do you feel is the most pressing issue facing Round Rock ISD at this time?
The budget squeeze: flat state funding, declining enrollment and public dollars moving to private schools. The educator exodus owing to poor pay and working conditions and eroding trust in teachers and librarians. Unaddressed, both hit advanced academics, CTE, athletics and arts, things that make RRISD a destination district.
