The city of Round Rock registered a project to construct Fire Station 10, according to a filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Registration. The project is slated to begin in March of next year, and wrap up in June 2026.

The details

Fire Station 10 will be located on Old Settlers Boulevard, near Red Bud Lane, and will serve north Round Rock. Estimated costs for the project are $9,260,000, according to the TDLR filing.

The design firm associated with the 13,950-square-foot facility is McKinney York Architects.

Looking back

City Council approved a competitive sealed proposal at a May 23 meeting, which initiated the contractor bidding process for the new station. Director of General Services Chad McDowell said the design of Fire Station 10 will follow a prototype that has been used for four other stations in the city.

What else?

The project is still in the design phase and no construction contract has been considered by City Council yet. The fire station is funded through 2023 voter-approved bonds that are intended for public safety.
