Located in the University Oaks retail center, the store held a grand opening at the end of May. Round Rock's first Burlington location is in the La Frontera Village retail center near the intersection of I-35 and SH 45.

A new food truck is bringing New York-style breakfast options to Round Rock's east side.
Known for its East Coast take on breakfast sandwiches, Eggman opened a food truck near Dell Diamond and Old Settlers Park in mid-May. The business was founded and remains locally owned by Rich Tavetian.
The food truck's menu includes a variety of breakfast sandwiches featuring bacon, eggs, cheese, sausage and other proteins as well as condiments. Sandwiches are made to order, according to the business, and are served on a Kaiser roll specifically baked for Eggman.
Customers can also choose from hot or iced coffee, orange juice, canned sodas and bottled water.
Not a Damn Chance Burger offers a limited menu of wagyu cheeseburgers, beef tallow fries with chipotle ketchup and additional toppings available, as well as brown butter chocolate chip cookies. Customers can order inside the bar, with window service coming soon, according to the city of Round Rock.
The food truck is a collaboration between professional skateboarder Neen Williams and Michelin-starred chef Phillip Frankland Lee.
It is under the ownership group Scratch Restaurants Group, which Lee and his wife Margarita Kallas-Lee own. The group also includes Pasta|Bar, Sushi by Scratch Restaurants and Shokunin.
The Round Rock franchise of Peach Cobbler Factory held a soft opening May 22. It is located in the Sky Plaza retail center.
The Peach Cobbler Factory offers a variety of fruit cobblers, puddings, cinnamon rolls, cookies, bottled tea and smoothies, according to the brand's website. It has locations in 25 states, with 13 open in Texas. This will be the first Austin-area franchise.
The clinic is owned by Dr. Gulshan Karamchandani, who has spent most of her career working in the VA health care system, as well as private practices. Originally from North Carolina, she moved to Round Rock in 2021 before opening her own clinic downtown.
Karamchandani said her approach to eye health emphasizes preventative medicine and whole-body health. The clinic offers comprehensive eye exams, which include prescriptions for contacts and eyeglasses; wellness scans, which produce an image of the retina as well as an ultrasound of the eye's nerve and macula; specialized evaluations for dry eye to assess the quality of a patient's tear film as well as potential allergies; and a variety of therapeutic treatments for dry eye.
Just a few months after the business closed amid an investigation, The Lodge Card Club reopened its doors at the end of May.
The Lodge announced in March that it had closed due to a state investigation, and shortly after filed a Worker Adjustment & Retraining Notice indicating that 144 employees were laid off in the closure.
With the investigation closed and no wrongdoing found, according to the business's social media, it reopened May 26.
The Lodge Card Club is a members-only social club offering cash games and tournaments.
Coming soon
The restaurant is targeting an opening for its Round Rock location at the end of July or early August, a company representative confirmed to Community Impact in May.
Company representatives shared intentions to bring a restaurant to the city in October, initially aiming for an April opening. A company representative confirmed the updated timeline for opening May 19.
Slim Chickens offers a variety of chicken wings, tenders, sandwiches and other chicken-based items on the menu, in addition to southern-style sides like macaroni and cheese, potato salad and fried pickles.
The future restaurant is opening in a space formerly home to Zaxby's Chicken Fingers, which closed in June 2026.

A future location of the Yemeni-style coffee shop is set to open in the Shops at University Heights retail center, according to the company.
Project information filed with the TDLR shows a remodel of the tenant space will happen later this year, beginning in July and concluding in October.
The company's website shows that this future location would be the first in the Austin area.
Moka & Co. offers fair trade coffee made with traditional Yemeni brewing methods. Its menu includes signature lattes, matcha drinks, refreshers and frozen beverages.
In a project filing from the TDLR, records show a Slick City Action Park is planned for a 44,602-square-foot space and will cost about $1 million to build.
Per the filing, the facility will include indoor slides and a cafe.
Founded in 2022 by Bron Launsby, CEO of Slick City, and Gary Schmit, founder and CEO of slide manufacturer Slick Slide, the company bills itself as the world's first indoor slide park. In addition to a variety of slides, Slick City locations can offer laser tag, bumper cars, arcades, climbing structures and other attractions.
About a year after the Jack in the Box located near RM 620 and Great Oaks Drive closed, a new project information filing shows the building may soon be home to a Taco Bell.
Project information filed with the TDLR shows the former Jack in the Box building is planned for an $800,000 remodel to turn the space into a Taco Bell. The renovation would occur between early August and late October of this year, the filing shows.
The first Taco Bell location opened in Downey, California, in 1962. The company known for its crunchy tacos and other Mexican American-inspired menu items has since expanded to thousands of franchise locations across the U.S.
Relocations
The dry cleaner located in the Shops at Greenlawn retail center is set to relocate July 1.
However, customers won't have to travel far—it will relocate across the street to the Greenlawn Crossing retail center, according to the business.
The cleaner offers wash and fold services, dry cleaning, alterations and repairs, and professional cleaning for household items, according to the company. The dry cleaner first opened in its current location at 3200 Greenlawn Blvd., Ste. 100, Round Rock in 2017.
Closings
After 25 years of operation in downtown Round Rock, Louisiana Longhorn Café closed in June. The restaurant's closure was announced via social media June 5.
The Cajun restaurant was first opened in 1999 by Melinda and Ray Overstreet. The restaurant has since changed hands.
Known for its authentic Louisiana taste and cooking methods offered, the menu's dishes are borrowed from family recipes passed down through generations.
