Rita’s Italian Ice & Frozen Custard
The Pennsylvania-based business offers a variety sweet treats, including Italian ice, frozen custard and a combination of the two. Customers will find gelati, which comes with layers of Italian ice and layers of custard; and the Blendini, which blends the two together. The company has locations in New Braunfels, San Antonio, Houston and throughout the U.S.

Liberty Barbecue
After six years of serving downtown Round Rock, the restaurant announced its permanent closure via social media Nov. 1.
The last day of the full-service barbecue restaurant's operation was Oct. 26, per its Facebook page.
Liberty Barbecue first opened in December of 2018.

Round Rock Fire Department Fire Station 1
The first of three new stations funded by May 2023 voter-approved bonds opened Nov. 14.
Located at 1730 E. Old Settlers Blvd., the new station hosts a battalion chief and fire crew originally stationed at the Central Fire Station. This relocation will help better distribute response times in Round Rock, especially in the east side of the city, according to a city news release.
