For about 15 years, the Antique Gallery of Round Rock has been home to a collection of unique items shoppers are unlikely to find anywhere else.

The set up

Covering over 30,000 square feet of space, the antique store displays an array of items collected and put up for sale by more than 200 dealers.

Offering a glimpse into the past, the store features a little bit of everything, manager Brandon Barber said.

Shoppers will find vintage clothing, furniture, artwork, toys, tools, books, jewelry, records, memorabilia, comics and much more.

“We’re home to about 200 small-business owners and they work really hard every day to find collectibles and things to sell,” Antique Gallery of Round Rock owner Stephen Plyler. “Each one of them kind of specializes in their own style and we basically run the shop and provide customer service.”

What’s special about it?

Round Rock is home to many big box stores, which can offer products at lower prices and discounted rates compared to antique shops.

However, Plyler said shoppers looking for quality, one-of-a-kind items won’t find them outside of a shop like his.

“You’re buying something that other people don’t have and they’re antiques that have stood the test of time,” he said. “I’ve seen antique stuff hold their value and actually increase in value, if they’re of great quality. So it’s not only good merchandise, but it’s also an investment for people.”

Beyond the opportunity to purchase uncommon merchandise, Plyler said perusing the aisles of an antique gallery is an experience of its own.

“It’s just great fun,” he said. “A lot of people at the antique mall aren’t antiquers. They just like to go out and find treasures of any kind. They like to see different, unique things. If you’re a shopper, you’ll enjoy your mall.”
