Rehabilitation and maintenance work will begin the week of July 9 on Railroad Avenue between Pfennig Lane and Wilbarger Street in Pflugerville, according to city officials.

The project will include street repaving and repair, sidewalk ramp reconstruction and new signing and striping of the roadway. Construction will take place daily between 8 a.m. and 7 p.m.

Railroad Avenue will remain open to traffic with one lane in each direction, but officials said residents will have limited access to adjacent streets and residences. Traffic patterns will change during the course of the project so drivers are asked to pay attention to signs and drive with caution in the area.

Work on Railroad Avenue between Pfennig Lane and Brookhollow Drive is planned for completion before Aug. 16, the first day of school. The entire project is estimated to be completed by the end of November, weather permitting.
