24 Hour Fitness announced June 11 that the Pflugerville gym is expected to reopen July 7. Temporarily closed since mid-March, the fitness chain faced a near eviction from the Stone Hill Town Center location at 1401 Town Center Drive, Pflugerville.

After working with the landlord, representatives from the company said they have a plan in place to reopen the Pflugerville club. However, dozens of 24 Hour Fitness gyms have shuttered nationwide as a result of cost-saving measures in light of the coronavirus pandemic.

"Not every club has made the reopening list," the fitness chain wrote in a June 11 statement. "We've looked hard at how we can best serve our members, and have refocused our resources where we believe they can do the most good."
