Pflugerville City Council unanimously adopted Aug. 25 a $216.3 million budget for fiscal year 2020-21 as well as a property tax rate of $0.4863 per $100 valuation.

Pflugerville's FY 2020-21 budget marks a $25.5 million, or 13% increase, over the city's $190.8 million FY 2019-20 budget.

The No New Revenue Tax Rate, listed at $0.4945 per $100 valuation, generates the same property tax revenue as the prior year based on the new year’s total value of taxable property as defined by state law. The now-adopted rate for FY 2020-21 represents a $0.0082 decrease below the estimated No New Revenue Tax Rate and a $0.0113 decrease below last year's property tax rate of $0.4976 per $100 valuation.

The average Pflugerville home is listed at $258,167, per city documents. The average Pflugerville home value was recorded as $254,485 in FY 2019-20.

The estimated average city tax bill under the now-adopted rate is approximated at $1,255.47, per documents.


City documents list last year's average city tax bill at $1,284.64. However, when multiplying FY 2019-20's property tax rate and average home value, the estimated figure is $1,266.32.

The FY 2020-21 budget formally goes into effect Oct. 1.
