The wait is over for Round Rock ISD to have a complete board. On Thursday night trustees named Steve Math as the final candidate to fill Place 6, left vacant initially by Paul Tisch in May and then by Stuart Selvaggi in August.

Since Selvaggi's resignation the board has reopened the application process and interviewed four candidates at last week's trustee meeting. Those four candidates, Kristine Parker, John Grey, Jen Henderson and Steve Math, were told they would be waiting one additional week for a final decision after trustees Suzi David and Edward Hanna were missing for portions of the evening.

Board President Diane Cox said this weeklong delay would also allow members of the public to contact the board with their preferences of the four candidates.

Each of the four resubmitted applications to the board with a new format and underwent background checks.

Math was sworn in Thursday night.
