Round Rock City Council voted unanimously Thursday evening to set a maximum property tax rate of $0.42 per $100 valuation for the fiscal year 2018-19 budget.

The same rate is in the proposed budget and represents a decrease of 1 cent from the existing city property tax rate.

The first tax rate public hearing and budget public hearing will take place at the council's Aug. 23 regular meeting as well as the first vote to adopt the tax rate and budget. The second tax rate public hearing will take place Aug. 30, and the final adoption of the tax rate and budget will take place Sept. 13.
