On Thursday morning, Round Rock announced 21-year Round Rock Fire Department veteran Shane Glaiser has been promoted to Assistant Fire Chief to Chief Robert Isbell.
The newly promoted fireman started his career in Round Rock in June 1995 and has seen tremendous progress since then. He is a founding member of the department's bicycle rescue team, technical rescue team and honor guard.
Glaiser has served as a Battalion Chief since 2008. Now, he will serve alongside Billy Wusterhausen, the department's other Assistant Fire Chief.
Glaiser led the department's construction of the
two newest fire stations, which opened in December. He will continue leading the construction of a Public Safety Training facility which broke ground in November.
"It's an honor to be named Assistant Fire Chief, and a title that I will not take lightly," Glaiser said.
