The city of Pflugerville has been recognized as a finalist for the Texas Downtown Association 2019 President’s Awards Best Public Improvement award, according to a Nov. 14 news release.

Dubbed "The Best Little Plaza in Texas," the 6,000-square-foot space was built during April 2019's Plazapalooza, constructed in two days by city staff, civic groups and community members, per the release. Community events held in the space so far include Pflugerville's annual Park(ing) Day at the plaza and a National Night Out party, according to the release. The plaza will also be home to community gatherings, such as musical performances, in the coming future, the release confirmed.

“This public space is one of the best public improvements in the state which is why we have confidence in officially naming our downtown plaza, ‘The Best Little Plaza in Texas," City Manager Sereniah Breland said in the release.
