What we reported In 2014, Mike Farr, owner of Nutty Brown Cafe & Amphitheatre, decided to relocate the venue from Southwest Austin to McNeil Park, located off I-35 in Round Rock.

In February 2018, Round Rock City Council approved the sale of McNeil Park to Farr as well as zoning changes necessary to accommodate the venue. The land sale closed in August 2018, Farr said.

The latest Construction on the venue is expected to begin in early January, according to Farr, with the first show taking place in spring 2020. Farr said Round Rock’s Nutty Brown Cafe & Amphitheatre will include a large outdoor music venue with capacity for about 7,000 people as well as a two-story restaurant and bar with a rooftop deck. The restaurant will be open seven days a week.
