As of 5 p.m. on Feb. 14, the close of the filing deadline, two of three seats up for Upper Brushy Creek Water Control and Improvement District board of directors are uncontested. Incumbents Jeremiah D. Williams and Mike Freeman will run without a challenger for Place 4 and Place 5, respectively.

Meanwhile, two candidates will vie for the Place 3 seat. Miguel Villarreal is not seeking re-election for Place 3, and Greg Brill and Cary Cheshire have filed to run for Villarreal's seat.

Upper Brushy Creek Water Control and Improvement District is composed of five directors. Directors are elected at large to serve staggered, four-year terms.
